I'm so lonely over here, people got finals coming up I suppose? Will be nice when we get some people back.
The creativity levels on maximum and artwork keeps flowing in, ideas are thought through and mods had troublemakers to keep an eye on!
Once again will this forum flourish with energy and people!
Oh, I just realised I'm meant to be busy aswell, I have to finish an animation before deadline and... it's getting closer. But still! Inbetween work this would be a nice place to hang out, sharing thoughts, ideas and artwork!
Oh how I wish those 59 guests weren't bots.
edit: 68 guests*
double edit: 90 guests... sigh...
Yikes... when I signed up I was on page 88, now a week passed and it has doubled... damned bots!
Yeah, school keeps me busy... I don't know about everyone else, though.
The forums pretty much died after we made the requirement for new accounts to be activated by admins, (we don't activate them because most of them are spam bots, making it difficult to distinguish real folks...)
And also, the most active members migrated to enterstation, where they now focus on an entirely new project. I'm thinking if Sim decides to drop narutoweb, we can keep it going. I won't give up!!!
These forums will once again flourish!!
What kind of animation are ya workin on?! Are you in art school still?!

Yeah, the last year, then I will apply for highschool and hopefully get into graphical game development. I'm sure we'll get more people back once school has all settled and... crap! The bus! Must go, see you!
Edit and back:
As I was saying, this summer I finish art and will try to get into graphical game development which mostly involves 3D modelling and animation, character behaviour and all that stuff you need to know like game analysing and how to work as a graphic person together with the programmers and designers. We'll see if I manage getting in, I don't really doubt my grades, but there's always someone better than yourself out there is what I believe, so I guess I shouldn't take it for granted that I'll get in on grades alone.
Oh, and the animation, is a regular Flash one, as a project kind of. I found it to be good practice for... pretty much everything creative. With enough time you can do everything from scratch, the graphics, music, sounds, voices, movement patterns, the animation itself etc. it's fun, I usually have this need to be creative so Flash animation is the perfect way to keep myself occupied. Sometimes I search for more ways to be creative which is the main reason you can find me here at this very moment.
Rather dull that no one has posted for activation yet... wait... do you think it's possible for the bot people to update the bots to post in there like crazy? Maybe we should have some kind of... approval test, like asking them a couple of questions before activating. If they can't be bothered to answer a few questions, they're not worthy of being activated on the forum anyways.

I'm wondering a bit though, there are like 3 different paths I can take under game development, which would be:
Design
Audio/Graphics
Programming
in Audio/Graphics you decide before starting which of them to specialise in so you could say 4 paths then, but they're treated like one class I recon.
Design is fun I'd say, creating the game itself rather than just drawing for it, I'm creative and got loads of ideas, but on the other hand I've got artistic talent which might be suitable for Graphics which might be a little less fun but more handy for the skills. So far I think it's graphics I'll be going for. Programming is really not my thing, I don't think I'd be able to cope for too long on that.
Yeah... its up to you... I'm interested in all three areas. I enjoy graphics and programming and want to learn more, and I've never done design, so I want to learn more about it.
Hehe, tough decisions. It's best to choose one you like the best and master that single field rather than spread your self thin across several things and mastering none.

So true, but I've always been kind of... an all around person. I guess I'll just have to specialise myself in a field. They're going to want some works
by me with short descriptions... and a handdrawn pencil drawing of a "transportation animal" as a special assignment. I guess I'll have to study some animals soon...
Then when I send in all stuff they'll have like 3 checkpoints of filtering. First they filter all letters that doesn't contain everything they should be containing. Second, they give points and rank everything after certain criteria and lastly they take the ones with highest rank and have them do some kinda test... that sounds scary.
That's how you try to get in as an "alternatively chosen" and the class will consist of 65% alternatively chosen, 20% people based on best grades, 15% best highschool test.
About 48 are taken in, over 200 applying every year. So... 10 people with best grades, 31 who do that bunch of stuff to get judged and 7 people with best highschool test results... I haven't done a highschool test since I was too late to apply for it. So I'll be fighting over 200 people to get one of 41 seats, in this kind of situation I guess I'll just have to think ELITE, and slay everyone in my way, Zabusa style. I don't really doubt my grades, judging on the past records of people getting in with much lower grades than I have right now, but I guess it would just feel good to compete to be one of the alternatively chosen aswell. If I could go back a month I'd do the highschool test aswell, but nothing that can be done about that now.
Well, it's nothing specific (really broad). At the moment, I haven't gotten very far yet... it will be a while before I get into actual video game stuff...
Right now I'm trying to introduce myself to more to the programming side of video games... I'm just learning Java now... I made a text-based dice game with it... ;;;;;
I'm gonna try to learn coding for gameboy advance sometime, as well.. it's in the c language.
But.. it will probably be a long time before I get to that...

Very interesting, brings me back to the days when I was little and thought "Wow, I wonder how people can make these games." Was so hard for me to understand people could make them. Then when you get older you start to realise that nothing is made by no one.
I think that's where my major creativity spree comes from, I wouldn't mind making my own customised clothes if I just had picked up that tailoring skill when I had the chance. I suppose it's never too late to learn but I wouldn't really know where to start and I don't have any intentions of studying it professionally, more like following an internet tutorial or something cheap like that.
I'll be making a new Naruto Web domain soon. ;-=], but the game idea is going to be different, still MMO though. easier to code and will be a new type of PC game.
