i think that it could be a good idea but i think more people like online games more than a single player one.
but it is the only option to get some gaming for the meantime i think it would bring some more user to play.

Well I used to play Diablo 2 ALOT and I had a crappy connection back then, so whenever my connection would get lost HAVE NO FEAR SINGLE PLAYER MODE IS HERE! And I could play it single player.

it'll just place you and X ammount of enemies on a small map then have you all battle to the death =)

Thats how the Naruto Web multiplayer version of the game is now. you and x ammount of people join a game and battle it out. don't have enough art yet for MMORPG.
